Al Ahli clinched United Arab of Emirates Cup 2016. In the Final game they overcame Al Naser 87-66. It was quite an easy start for Al Ahli that grabbed a 21-13 lead at the end of the first period. Moreover they pushed the tempo for good and grabbed a 55-29 lead at the half-time due to 34-16 surge in the second period. Al Naser replied with a 22-10 rally in the last period to reduce the gap in the game.

Al Shabab sealed 2015/16 D1 title as they won the Final series against Al Ahli 2-1. In the decisive Game 3 Al Shabab exploded with an 81-57 win. The winner of the Regular season dominated the majority of the game and clinched the victory on a high note. Ali Abass (190-F) top-scored for the winners with 16 points and Khalifa Khalil netted 15. Nasser Rashid posted 12 points in the Final and decisive game.

Al Ahli triumphed at Arabian Gulf Basketball Clubs Championship 2016. In the Final game they overcame Al Rayyan 81:77. The team from UAE grabbed an early 27-19 lead and led 48:42 at the halftime. The Qatari squad managed to tie the game at the end of the third period when they produced a 17-11 rally. Only due to 22-18 in the last stanza, Al Ahli celebrated the win.
