Al Sharjah tabs Jovana Mandic

Jovana Mandic

Al Sharjah (D1) inked 31-year-old Bosnian-Croatian international 192cm center Jovana Mandic (college: Nicholls State) for the upcoming season. Mandic played most recently at Proteas in the Greek A1 league. She managed to play in three leagues in two countries last year (!!!). In 11 A1 games she averaged 4.8ppg, 4.3rpg and 1.0apg. Mandic also played for Slavia in Slovakian Extraliga where in 13 games she had 8.5ppg, 6.3rpg, 1.8apg, and 1.1spg. She also played 8 games in Eurocup where she recorded 8.4ppg, 6.3rpg, 1.8apg, and 1.0spg. Mandic has been regularly called to Bosnia and Herzegovina Senior National Team since 2022.

She is a very experienced player. Mandic has quite traveled the world as her pro career brought her to six different countries on three different continents (Europe, Latin America, and North America). She has played previously professionally in Argentina (Penarol), Germany (ChemCats Chemnitz), Hungary (E.ON ELTE BEAC Budapest), Italy (Umbertide and Sarcedo), Portugal (CAB Madeira) and Spain (Aviles, Almeria, and Batalyaws).

Among many awards, she was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Italian Serie A2 Honorable Mention back in 2018.

Mandic graduated from Nicholls State in 2016 and it will be her eighth season in pro basketball. She played also for the University of North Carolina Wilmington for 2 years.
