BTL Round 2 (Regular Season): Big Lions lose to TGE

There were only 2 rounds played so far and it's still very beginning of the Regular Season in BTL. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

Big Lions recorded a loss at the home court on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by THE 75-70. TGE outrebounded Big Lions 49-32 including a 35-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American center Elijah Tillman (203-1994, college: GBC) who scored 24 points, 21 rebounds and 4 blocks. International point guard Frederick Lish (175-1988, college: USA) chipped in 28 points and 12 rebounds. American guard Brandon Simpson (193, college: Emmanuel, GA) produced 20 points for the hosts. THE is looking forward to face Shoot it Dragons in the next round. Big Lions will play against PNRU and are hoping to win this game.
Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Bangkok: Hitech and Air Force. Hitech smashed visiting Air Force by 26 points 83-57. American center Kierell Green (203-1997, college: Edinboro, agency: YoungGroup Unlimited) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds. Chanatip Jakrawan contributed with 13 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Pongsaporn Srijan replied with 18 points for Air Force. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Hitech will play against Sripatum Uni. in the next round where they are favorite. Air Force will play against JBBS DW and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
An exciting game was played in . Cobras faced Sripatum. Guests from smashed host Sripatum 108-67. Morakinyo Williams scored 21 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners. Supakorn Saeming responded with 17 points and 9 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cobras will meet Banvas in the next round where they are favorite. Sripatum will play against Hitech in Bangkok and hope to win that game.

In the last two games of round 2 winless PNRU was defeated by Shoot it Dragons in a road game 95-78. Banvas beat JBBS DW at home 96-94.
The best stats of 2nd round was 48 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 4 assists by Jarron Crump of Banvas.



Shoot it Dragons - PNRU 95-78

There was no surprise when PNRU was defeated on the road by Dragons 95-78 on Sunday. Shoot it Dragons dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to PNRU's 42. They outrebounded PNRU 59-46 including 22 on the offensive glass. Shoot it Dragons looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American forward Eric Freeman (202-1997, college: Brunswick) had a double-double by scoring 31 points, 16 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import guard Accheaus Fields (189-1997, college: Averett) chipped in 25 points, 17 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. Mohammed Diaby (200) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds and Peerakarn Saikaew scored 10 points and 5 rebounds. PNRU's coach rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Dragons will meet TGE in the next round, which may be the game of the day. PNRU will play against Big Lions and hope to win that game.

No shocking result in a game in Bangkok where Slammers edged Warriors 96-94 on Sunday. Banvas made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 JBBS DW turnovers. American-Indonesian point guard Jarron Crump (183-1992, college: Pacific Union) scored 48 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the former international point guard Kannut Samerjai (181-1988) chipped in 13 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. American forward Allen Sims (196-1998, college: Oakland City) responded with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 13 rebounds and Amolanat Thongdonnoi scored 18 points, 8 rebounds and 5 blocks. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Slammers will meet at home Crypto Cobra in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Warriors will play against Air Force in Bangkok and hope to win that game.
