TGBL Round 9 (Regular Season): Coastal C. defeat Urban R. in the closest game of the week

TGBL is at the halfway of the Regular Season and there are still another 9 rounds left. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 6th ranked Reapers (4-6) to fifth ranked Comets (4-6) 71-69 in the game for the sixth place. Coastal C. forced 22 Urban R. turnovers. stepped up and scored 23 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and chipped in 22 points and 6 steals. The best for the losing side was Jaiden Dixon with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds. Despite that victory Coastal C. went down to sixth position due to points difference, which they share with Urban R. and Dynasty D. Coastal C. is looking forward to face league's leader W.Wolves in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Urban R. will play against Shoot it Dragons (#3) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
TGBL top team - Thai Wolves (10-0) added another victory to their record. This time they beat fifth ranked Elks (5-5) 58-51. nailed 18 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side and Jesean Wilson accounted for 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Mou Sabar came up with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 22 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks for New Era E. in the defeat. Undefeated Thai Wolves have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. W.Wolves maintains first place with 10-0 record. New Era E. lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth position with five games lost. They share it with Overseas S.. W.Wolves will play against Coastal C. (#6) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. New Era E. will play against Bangkok G. and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Bottom-ranked Gladiators (0-10) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their tenth consecutive match to fourth ranked Supreme (5-5) 106-104 on Saturday evening. The best player for the winners was Bryce McGill who had a double-double by scoring 54 points (!!!), 13 rebounds and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Ian Donaldson who recorded a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 15 rebounds and 5 assists. Overseas S. maintains fourth place with 5-5 record, which they share with New Era E. Bangkok G. lost their tenth game in a row. They still close the standings with ten games lost. Overseas S. will meet at home Dynasty D. (#7) in the next round. Bangkok G. will play against New Era E. and hopes to get finally their first victory.

In the last game of round 9 Dynasty D. was destroyed by Goblins on the opponent's court 107-64.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 42 points (!!!), 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals by Mason Murray of Goblins.



Coastal C. - Urban R. 71-69

Goblins - Dynasty D. 107-64

Very expected game when 9th ranked Demons (4-6) were crushed on the road by second ranked Goblins (8-2) 107-64 on Saturday. Goblins dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Demons's 46. Goblins forced 22 Dynasty D. turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Dynasty D.'s players. The best player for the winners was Mason Murray who had a double-double by scoring 42 points (!!!), 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Christopher Bradford chipped in 34 points (!!!), 7 assists and 4 steals. At the other side the best for losing team was Darrius Hughes who recorded a double-double by scoring 31 points and 14 rebounds and Varshan Sri added 21 points and 6 rebounds respectively. The victory was the third consecutive win for Goblins. They maintain second place with 8-2 record having just one point less than leader W.Wolves. Dynasty D. lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the sixth position with six games lost. They share it with Urban R. and Coastal C.. Goblins will meet at home CNX Orion (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Dynasty D. will play against Overseas S. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
