BTL Round 14 (Regular Season): Derby game ends with Hitech's defeat of Banvas

What a coincidence that all visitors won their games. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Bangkok: Hitech (#1) and Banvas (#5). Banvas were smashed at home by 25 points 76-101 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Hitech outrebounded Banvas 46-29 including 33 on the defensive glass. Hitech looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. International center Emmanuel Ejesu (203-2004) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). American center Kierell Green (203-1997, college: Edinboro) contributed with 18 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. American Marcus Hammonds (196-1987, college: TAMUCC) replied with 31 points and 7 rebounds for Banvas. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Hitech maintains first position with 13-1 record. Banvas lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with eight games lost.
An interesting game for Shoot it Dragons (12-2) which played road game in against one of their biggest challengers Crypto Cobra (9-5). Second ranked Shoot it Dragons managed to get a 11-point victory 98-87. American guard Accheaus Fields (187-1997, college: Averett) had a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 9 rebounds, 15 assists and 6 steals to lead the charge for the winners and Eric Freeman chipped in 24 points and 17 rebounds (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field) during the contest. British center Morakinyo Williams (209-1988, college: Citadel) responded with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 13 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Shoot it Dragons have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 12-2 record behind leader Hitech. Crypto Cobra at the other side keeps the third place with five games lost. They share the position with TGE.

TGE's coach Apaipong Netsiriswan felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 23 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists by Afnan Charansarn did not help to save the game for White Lions. TGE have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Crypto Cobra. White Lions lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with ten games lost.




Banvas - Hitech 76-101

White Lions - TGE 73-120

The game in supposed to be also quite interesting. Fourth ranked TGE (9-5) played at the court of 8th ranked White Lions (4-10). TGE smashed White Lions 120-73 on Sunday. TGE dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to White Lions' 46. TGE forced 19 White Lions turnovers and outrebounded them 46-25 including a 33-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. TGE looked well-organized offensively handing out 40 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by White Lions' players. Mali forward Ibrahim Diaby (197-2001) notched a double-double by scoring 19 points, 7 rebounds and 11 assists to lead the effort and American forward Bobby Arthur-Williams (201-1997, college: Pitt St., agency: Starting 5) supported him with 25 points. Four TGE players scored in double figures. TGE's coach Apaipong Netsiriswan felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 23 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists by the former international forward Afnan Charansarn (186-1997) did not help to save the game for White Lions. Gambian-Belgian Omar Thielemans (203-1999, college: GSU) added 21 points and 9 rebounds for the hosts. TGE have a solid three-game winning streak.
