Martinez's double-double lands him (Second Stage) Player of the Week award

37-year old Filipino point guard James Martinez (170-PG-1987) had a great game in the last round for Chaophraya Thunders and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 4 (Second Stage).
He got a double-double of 43 points and 10 assists, while his team outclassed T-REX (#6, 5-9) with 53-point margin 141-88. Thunders maintains the 5th position in Thailand league. Thunders is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. But it was their 7th lost game this season out of 14 games. In the team's last game Martinez had a remarkable 88.2% from 2-point range. He turned to be Thunders' top player in his first season with the team. Martinez has impressive league stats. He is league's best scorer averaging so far 25.0ppg. Martinez is in league's top in assists (5th best: 5.4apg) and averages solid 63.2% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Darius Austin (201-F-1995) of Bangkok Tigers. He is American forward in his first season at Tigers. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Tigers still maintains its place in the top 3 of the standings, even despite this loss. His team's 8-6 record is not bad at all. Austin is a newcomer at Tigers and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to another Tigers' star - Eric Freeman (201-SF-1997). Freeman showcased his all-around game by recording 15 points, 16 rebounds (!!!) and 4 assists in the last round. Despite Freeman's great performance the Bangkok Tigers lost 99-117 to #1 ranked Dunkin' Raptors. But his team cannot count on just these two top stars as they also need help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing Tigers needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 8 victories and 6 lost games. Freeman has a great season in Thailand. After 10 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 13.9rpg (5th best). He also has 2.3spg, 1.3bpg and a FGP of 57.1%.
