American Darius Austin (201-F-1995) had a great game in the last round for Bangkok Tigers and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 9.
The 29-year old forward had a double-double of 50 points and 22 rebounds, while his team outclassed Waves (#7, 3-6) with 34-point margin 144-110. Tigers maintains the 3rd position in Thailand TBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Tigers will need more victories to improve their 6-3 record. In the team's last game Austin had a remarkable 71.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be Tigers' top player in his first season with the team. Jackson State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Austin leads league in rebounds with 17.4rpg. Austin is in league's top in and averages solid 2.3bpg and 60.0% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Ivorian Ousmane Doumbia (200-SF-2001) of Chiangmai Eagles. Doumbia impressed basketball fans with 32 points and 8 rebounds. Bad luck as Eagles lost that game 103-116 to slightly higher-ranked Black Fox (#8, 2-7). Despite lost game Eagles moved up to 9th position in the standings. 8 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory Eagles managed to get this year. Doumbia is a newcomer at Eagles and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was Filipino James Martinez (170-PG-1987) of Phuket Waves (#7). Martinez got into 30-points club by scoring 46 points in the last round. He went also for nine rebounds and six assists. Despite Martinez's great performance the Waves lost 110-144 to the higher-ranked Tigers (#3, 6-3). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Waves not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 6 games, recording just three victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Martinez could try to bring Waves' a little bit higher in the standings. Martinez has individually a great season in Thailand. After only 9 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 36.6ppg (best scorer) and assists with 6.0apg (6th best). He also has a FGP of 61.8% and 3PT: 44.2%.
