Sergent number one in Thailand TBL for round 8

Julien Sergent put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for second-ranked Pathum Thani Pythons, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 8.
The player had a double-double of 22 points and 17 rebounds, while his team beat Thunders (#4, 5-4) 77-68. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Pythons maintains the 2nd position in Thailand TBL. They are still close to the very top. Pythons would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 8-1 record. Sergent turned to be Pythons' top player in his first season with the team. Julien Sergent has solid league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (2nd best: 17.3rpg) and averages impressive 1.2bpg and 64.0% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was Mark Yu of Similan Black Fox. Yu had a very good evening with a triple-double of 24 points, 13 rebounds and 19 assists. Bad luck as Black Fox was edged by slightly higher-ranked Mammoth (#6, 5-4) 90-88. Despite lost game Black Fox moved up to 8th position in the standings. 7 lost games are too many comparing to just two victories Black Fox managed to get this year. Yu is a newcomer at Black Fox, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 22.4ppg (#9). His other stats are also decent: 8.1rpg and 10.8apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was Filipino guard James Martinez (170-PG-1987) of Phuket Waves (#7). Martinez got into 30-points club by scoring 43 points in the last round. Despite Martinez's great performance the Waves lost 96-97 to slightly higher-ranked T-REX (#5, 5-4). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Waves not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 6 games, recording just three victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Martinez could try to bring Waves' a little bit higher in the standings. Martinez has individually a great season in Thailand. After only 9 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 36.6ppg (best scorer) and assists with 6.0apg (6th best). He also has a FGP of 61.8% and 3PT: 44.2%.
