Avery Scharer's triple-double lands him Hoops Agents Player of the Week award- July 10, 2023
The 37-year old playmaker recorded a triple-double of 33 points adding also twelve rebounds and fifteen assists, while his team crushed Thunders (#8, 1-3) with 22-point margin 119-97. T-REX maintains the 6th position in Thailand TBL. T-REX is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 2-2 record. In the team's last game Scharer had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at T-REX, through which he has constantly improved. Shoreline Community College graduate has very impressive stats this year. Scharer is in league's top in points (6th best: 25.5ppg) and averages solid 4.0spg and 58.5% FGP. Worth to mention Scharer played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball. The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Polish power forward Robert Kowalczyk (202-PF-1995) of Thunders. Kowalczyk impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 27 points and 25 rebounds. Bad luck as Thunders lost that game 97-119 to slightly higher-ranked T-REX (#6, 2-2). This loss caused Thunders to drop to 8th position in the standings. 3 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory Thunders managed to get this year. Kowalczyk is one of the most experienced players at Thunders and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. The third best performed player last round was Filipino Patrick Cabahug (186-G) of Eagles (#9). Cabahug got into 30-points club by scoring 42 points in the last round. Despite Cabahug's great performance Eagles lost 100-106 to the higher-ranked Devil Rays (#3, 3-1). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Cabahug has individually a great season in Thailand. After only 4 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 32.3ppg (best scorer).
