TBL Round 5 (Second Stage): Derby game ends with Hitech's defeat of Bangkok Tigers

Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Bangkok: Hitech (#1) and Bangkok Tigers (#4). Bangkok Tigers were crushed at home by 19 points 56-75 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Hitech looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American forward Joshua Keyes (201-1995, college: Muskingum, agency: PBAplayers Agency) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 blocks. The former international point guard Nattakarn Muangboon (180-1991) contributed with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners. Cameroonian forward Gabriel Yeumo (200-1988) answered with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists for Bangkok Tigers. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hitech have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 13-1 record. Bangkok Tigers at the other side keep the fourth position with five games lost.
The game in was also worth to mention about. Second ranked Devil Rays (12-2) played at the court of 5th ranked Dunkin' Raptors (6-8). Devil Rays managed to secure a 5-point victory 102-97. American point guard Taishaun Johnson (183-1994, college: PVAMU) stepped up and scored 20 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and Jittaphon Towaroj chipped in 13 points and 5 assists. Devil Rays' coach S. Premprapan used entire bench in such tough game. American point guard Avery Scharer (185-1986, college: Shoreline CC) responded with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 17 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Devil Rays have a solid series of three victories in a row. Newly promoted Devil Rays maintains second place with 12-2 record behind leader Hitech. Dunkin' Raptors lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with eight games lost.



Dunkin' Raptors - Devil Rays 97-102

The game in was also worth to mention about. Second ranked Devil Rays (12-2) played at the court of 5th ranked Dunkin' Raptors (6-8). Devil Rays managed to secure a 5-point victory 102-97. Devil Rays players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. American point guard Taishaun Johnson (183-1994, college: PVAMU) stepped up and scored 20 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and the former international guard Jittaphon Towaroj (186-1991) chipped in 13 points and 5 assists. Johnson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Devil Rays' coach S. Premprapan used entire bench in such tough game.
