TBL Round 7: Shoot it Dragon win their first game

There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in TBL. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

Shoot it Dragon can celebrate finally their first win this season after six consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat T-REX (0-7) 92-76 on Saturday. Shoot it Dragon had a 37-22 advantage in offensive rebounds. Swingman Panthawat Techasamran fired 29 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. The former international point guard Frederick Jones-Goldstein (178-1988, college: USA) chipped in 19 points. Forward Kulthawat Piyalangka produced a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals for lost side. It was the only win of host team this round and in all other games visitors recorded victories. Shoot it Dragon (1-6) left bottom position moving up to eighth place, which they share with Mad Goat. It was T-REX's seventh loss in a row. They still close the standings with seven games lost. Shoot it Dragon is looking forward to face higher ranked Hitech (#3) in Bangkok in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. T-REX will play at home against the league's second-placed Bangkok Tigers (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.

Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Taishaun Johnson (183-1994, college: PVAMU) who helped to win the game recording 30 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Moses Morgan contributed with 19 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Chiedoziem Okafor answered with 18 points and 7 rebounds for Thunders. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Undefeated Devil Rays (7-0) have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. Newly promoted Devil Rays maintains first place with a perfect record of 7 victories in a row. Thunders at the other side dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. They share it with Dunkin' Raptors and SWU. Devil Rays will play against TGE (#4) in the next round. Thunders will play against Dunkin' Raptors and hope to get back on the winning track.

Bangkok Tigers managed to secure a 9-point victory 85-76 on Saturday. It was a great evening for Jose Nouchanthavong who led his team to a victory scoring 26 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. At the losing side Jose Nouchanthavong responded with 26 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Bangkok Tigers maintains second place with 6-1 record behind leader Devil Rays, which they share with Hitech. Dunkin' Raptors lost their third game in a row. They keep the fifth position with four games lost. They share it with SWU and Thunders. Bangkok Tigers will meet bottom-ranked T-REX (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Dunkin' Raptors will have a break next round.

In the last two games of round 7 Hitech crushed SWU in Bangkok 119-64. Mad Goat was smashed by TGE at home 50-89.
The best stats of 7th round was 10 points and 12 rebounds by Alex Smith of T-REX.



Thunders - Devil Rays 66-111

Undefeated leader Devil Rays delivered the seventh consecutive victory. This time they crushed 7th ranked Thunders (3-4) 111-66. Devil Rays dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Thunders' 40 and made 21-of-27 charity shots (77.8 percent) during the game. Devil Rays forced 24 Thunders turnovers and had a 39-25 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Thunders' players. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Taishaun Johnson (183-1994, college: PVAMU) who helped to win the game recording 30 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. SWU - Hitech 64-119

There was no surprise when 5th ranked SWU (3-4) was crushed at home by third ranked Hitech (6-1) 119-64 on Saturday. Hitech dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to SWU's 42. They outrebounded SWU 68-30 including a 28-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Hitech looked well-organized offensively handing out 37 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by SWU's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Hitech made 7 blocks. It was a great evening for Patiphan Klahan who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 16 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). The former international Nakorn Jaisanuk (188-1991) helped adding 26 points. Hitech's coach Manid Niyomyindee felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Thanasit Moonwong responded with 10 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Chatchon Kamchoo (176) scored 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Hitech. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Bangkok Tigers. Loser SWU keeps the fifth position with four games lost. They share it with Dunkin' Raptors and Thunders. Hitech will meet at home Shoot it Dragon (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. SWU will play against Mad Goat (#8) in Nakorn Phantom and hope to secure a win.

Mad Goat - TGE 50-89

No shocking result in a game in Nakorn Phantom where fourth ranked TGE (5-2) smashed 8th ranked Mad Goat (1-6) 89-50 on Saturday. TGE forced 20 Mad Goat turnovers and outrebounded them 46-32 including a 34-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for the former international point guard Bandit Lakhan (183-1991) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). American point guard Jarron Crump (183-1992, college: Pacific Union) helped adding 14 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. Five TGE players scored in double figures. At the losing side the former international Danai Kongkum (193-1985) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Suchon Maitampitak (176) scored 5 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. TGE maintains fourth place with 5-2 record. Loser Mad Goat keeps the eighth position with six games lost. They share it with Shoot it Dragon. TGE will meet at home league's leader Devil Rays in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Mad Goat will play against SWU (#5) and hope to win that game.
