TBL Round 4: Hitech lose to Devil Rays

Coincidentally all visitors won their games. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Hitech (4-1) in Bangkok on Saturday night. Hosts were edged by Devil Rays (4-0) 85-82. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Devil Rays forced 21 Hitech turnovers. International Moses Morgan (198-1992, college: CS Fullerton) fired a double-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. American point guard Taishaun Johnson (183-1994, college: PVAMU) chipped in 22 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. American forward Adam Stanford (193-1995, college: Campbellsville) produced a double-double by scoring 28 points and 13 rebounds for lost side. Hitech's coach Manid Niyomyindee tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Devil Rays have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader. Defending champion Hitech dropped to the second place with one game lost. Devil Rays will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Hitech will play against Dunkin' Raptors and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Bottom-ranked T-REX (0-5) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 77-54 loss to seventh ranked Thunders (3-2) in Nakhon Ratchasima. Worth to mention a great performance of Chiedoziem Okafor who helped to win the game recording 39 points (!!!), 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals. Kittitep Lane Dasom contributed with 23 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Thunders' coach C Srisom felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Alex Smith (201-1988, college: BCU) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 19 rebounds for T-REX. Thunders moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Dunkin' Raptors. T-REX at the other side still closes the standings with five games lost. They share the position with Shoot it Dragon. Thunders will play against Shoot it Dragon (#9) in the next round where they are favorite. T-REX will play against Mad Goat and hopes to get finally their first victory.

Worth to mention a great performance of Noppachai Thongpool who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 8 rebounds. At the losing side Frederick Jones-Goldstein responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Shoot it Dragon's coach Boonchai Rittiphanyawong let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. SWU maintains seventh position with 2-2 record. Loser Shoot it Dragon still closes the standings with five games lost. They share the position with T-REX. SWU will meet at home higher ranked TGE (#6) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Shoot it Dragon will play against Thunders and looks forward to get finally their first victory.

In the last game of round 4 Dunkin' Raptors defeated Mad Goat in a road game 78-66.



T-REX - Thunders 54-77

Bottom-ranked T-REX (0-5) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 77-54 loss to seventh ranked Thunders (3-2) in Nakhon Ratchasima. Mad Goat - Dunkin'' Raptors 66-78

There was no surprise in Nakorn Phantom where 8th ranked Mad Goat (1-4) was defeated by third ranked Dunkin' Raptors (3-2) 78-66 on Saturday. Dunkin' Raptors have a solid three-game winning streak. Despite that victory Dunkin' Raptors went down to fourth position due to points difference, which they share with Thunders. Mad Goat lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with four games lost. Dunkin' Raptors will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Mad Goat will play against T-REX (#10) in Nakhon Ratchasima and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
