TBL Round 3: No surprise as #1 Bangkok Tigers defeat Sting Rays

Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

Bangkok Tigers (3-0) added another victory to their record on Wednesday. This time they beat Sting Rays (1-2) 74-69. Bangkok Tigers forced 20 Sting Rays turnovers. It was a great evening for Nattapat Biasamrit who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds. American point guard Tanner Hazelbaker (184, college: WBU) helped adding 23 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was the former international Arnat Phuangla (193-96) with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 16 rebounds. Sting Rays' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Bangkok Tigers is looking forward to face TGE (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Sting Rays will play against SWU and are hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
The game in supposed to be also worth to mention about. TGE (3-0) played at the court of Shoot it Dragon (1-2). TGE smashed Shoot it Dragon 103-79. It was an exceptional evening for guard Manatkawin Booddoung (177) who led the winners and scored 39 points (!!!) and 4 assists. Ngongo Bienvenue accounted for 17 points and 7 rebounds. The former international guard Sorot Sunthonsiri (186-93) came up with 7 points and 9 assists for Shoot it Dragon in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. TGE will play against Bangkok Tigers on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Shoot it Dragon will play against Thunders (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game in Nakhon Ratchasima supposed to be also quite interesting. Hitech (2-1) played at the court of T-REX (0-3). Hitech smashed T-REX 103-62 on Wednesday. The best player for the winners was Patiphan Klahan who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Callahan Setakhet who recorded 18 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hitech will meet at home Dunkin' Raptors in the next round. T-REX will play against Mad Goat (#8) and hopes to get finally their first victory.

In the last two games of round 3 winless SWU lost to undefeated Dunkin' Raptors on the opponent's court 62-70. Winless Mad Goat unfortunately lost to Thunders in a home game 64-74.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 12 points, 16 rebounds and 6 assists by Fils Dongmo of Thunders.



Shoot it Dragon - TGE 79-103

The game in supposed to be also worth to mention about. TGE (3-0) played at the court of Shoot it Dragon (1-2). TGE smashed Shoot it Dragon 103-79. TGE made 21-of-26 charity shots (80.8 percent) during the game. TGE outrebounded Shoot it Dragon 51-39 including 17 on the offensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. It was an exceptional evening for guard Manatkawin Booddoung (177) who led the winners and scored 39 points (!!!) and 4 assists. Congolese point guard Ngongo Bienvenue (182) accounted for 17 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. The former international guard Sorot Sunthonsiri (186-93) came up with 7 points and 9 assists and swingman Panthawat Techasamran added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Shoot it Dragon in the defeat. The game in Nakhon Ratchasima supposed to be also quite interesting. Hitech (2-1) played at the court of T-REX (0-3). Hitech smashed T-REX 103-62 on Wednesday. Hitech dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to T-REX's 30. Hitech forced 22 T-REX turnovers and outrebounded them 53-32 including a 34-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists comparing to just 19 passes made by T-REX's players. The best player for the winners was the former international Patiphan Klahan (201-93) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds. Nattapol Kupradit (175) chipped in 20 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Four Hitech players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Callahan Setakhet who recorded 18 points and Filipino guard Christian Calaguio (185-75, agency: BIG) added 12 points and 6 assists respectively. Very expected game when SWU (0-3) was defeated on the road by Dunkin' Raptors (3-0) 70-62 on Wednesday. Dunkin' Raptors will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. SWU will play against Sting Rays (#7) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.

Rather predictable result in Nakorn Phantom where Thunders (2-1) defeated Mad Goat (0-3) 74-64 on Wednesday. The best player for the winners was Cameroonian forward Fils Dongmo (201-89) who had a double-double by scoring 12 points, 16 rebounds and 6 assists. Guard Apisittinan Dasom (188-92) chipped in 22 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Thunders players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Kamani Hodges (185-94, college: Clearwater Chr.) who recorded 15 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and Udomchot Thiamlert added 15 points and 12 rebounds respectively. Mad Goat's coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Thunders will meet at home Shoot it Dragon (#6) in the next round. Mad Goat will play against T-REX in Nakhon Ratchasima and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
