TBL Round 2: Thunders lose to MUBC- July 28, 2020
There were only 2 rounds played so far and it's still very beginning of the Regular Season in TBL. Here is the last round review presented by ESL.
Bangkok Tigers - Hitech 77-109 Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Bangkok: Hitech (#2) and Bangkok Tigers (#6). Bangkok Tigers were smashed at home by 32 points 77-109 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Hitech dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Bangkok Tigers' 34. They outrebounded Bangkok Tigers 47-23 including a 31-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Hitech shot the lights out from three nailing 15 long-distance shots on high 51.7 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 36 assists comparing to just 23 passes made by Bangkok Tigers' players. American-Israeli point guard Frederick Jones-Goldstein (178-88, college: USA) notched 25 points and 6 assists to lead the effort and international Montien Wongsawangtham (183-89) supported him with 20 points and 5 rebounds (perfect from downtown making all six shots !!!). Even 26 points and 5 assists by the former international swingman Peeranat Semmesuk (195-95) did not help to save the game for Bangkok Tigers. Filipino-American point guard Kevin Van Hook (181-83, college: Corban) added 24 points and 4 assists for the hosts. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
