Johnson number one in Thailand for round 5

American Center Reginald Johnson (208-C-89) had a very impressive game in the last round for Raptors, receiving a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 5.
The 30-year old player had a double-double of 32 points and 20 rebounds, while his team edged out Luang (3-1) 81-79. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Thanks to this victory Raptors moved-up to the 3rd position in Thailand TBSL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season. Raptors will need more victories to improve their 3-1 record. In the team's last game Johnson had a remarkable 73.3% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Raptors, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Former University of Miami star has very solid stats this year. Johnson is league's best scorer averaging so far 29.8ppg and leads league in rebounds with 21.8rpg. Johnson is in league's top in assists (5th best: 6.8apg) and averages impressive 75.4% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was another Raptors' star - 33-year old American Avery Scharer (185-PG-86). Scharer had a very good evening with a triple-double of 28 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists. It was enough for Raptors to edge slightly higher-ranked Luang (3-1) 81-79. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Raptors consolidated its place in top 3 of the standings. His team's 3-1 record is not bad at all. Scharer is a newcomer at Raptors, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 26.5ppg (#2). His other stats are also decent: 8.3rpg and 10.8apg. Former Shoreline Community College star Scharer is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market.

Third on the list of top players last round was American guard Bobby Syvanthong (179-PG) of league's second-best Luang. Syvanthong showcased his all-around game by recording 20 points, seven rebounds and seven assists in the last round. Despite Syvanthong's great performance Luang lost 79-81 to #3 ranked Raptors. But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing Luang needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 3 victories and 1 lost games. Syvanthong has a great season in Thailand. After only 2 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 8.0apg (3rd best).
