TBL Round 4 (Second Stage): Leader Hitech gets another victory- August 13, 2019
Here is the last round review presented by ESL.
Shoot it Dragon - Hitech 76-93 Leader Hitech delivered the fourteenth win on Saturday night. This time they beat 5th ranked Shoot it Dragon (9-6) 93-76. Hitech dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Shoot it Dragon's 48. They outrebounded Shoot it Dragon 49-29 including a 21-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Hitech looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists. American power forward Kenny Hall (206-90, college: Tennessee) fired 26 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. The former international Chanatip Jakrawan (205-97) chipped in 18 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!). American point guard David Lawson (185-89, college: Reinhardt) produced 30 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists and his fellow American import forward Maurice Kirby (206-94, college: IUPUI) added 12 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Shoot it Dragon players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hitech (14-1) have an impressive five-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position. Newly promoted Shoot it Dragon dropped to the fourth place with six games lost. They share the position with Raptors. Hitech are looking forward to face Raptors (#4) in the next round. Shoot it Dragon will play against Thunders and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident. Mad Goat held Thunders to an opponent 25.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 35.9 percent accuracy of the winners. Mad Goat had a 37-25 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Jamaican-American center Anthony Allen (213-92, college: Oklahoma St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists and American forward Scott Sill (206-92, college: Delaware St.) who added 11 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Four Mad Goat players scored in double figures. At the losing side Cameroonian forward Gabriel Yeumo (200-88) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 20 rebounds and 4 assists and Cameroonian forward Fils Dongmo (201-89) scored 4 points and 15 rebounds. Thunders' coach rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Mad Goat have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 10-5 record having four points less than leader T-REX. Thunders lost sixth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keep the eighth place with 12 games lost. Mad Goat will meet league's second-placed TGE in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Thunders will play against Shoot it Dragon (#5) and hope to secure a win. Second ranked TGE (13-2) played at the court of 7th ranked Bangkok Tigers (5-10). TGE smashed Bangkok Tigers 84-62. TGE forced 29 Bangkok Tigers turnovers. Strangely Bangkok Tigers outrebounded TGE 58-46 including a 41-28 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Nattapol Kupradit (175) who helped to win the game recording 21 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. The former international Anucha Langsui (200-93) contributed with 19 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four TGE players scored in double figures. TGE's coach Apaipong Netsiriswan felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. British forward Joe Mvuezolo (197-96, college: Montana St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 13 rebounds and American forward Trayvond Massenburg (203, college: Brandon) added 15 points, 17 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Bangkok Tigers. TGE have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 13-2 record behind leader T-REX. Bangkok Tigers lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth place with ten games lost. They share the position with SWU. TGE will play against Mad Goat (#3) in Nakorn Phantom in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Bangkok Tigers will play against SWU and it may be a tough game between close rivals. Raptors looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Anthony McClain (211-88, college: Cincinnati) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 30 points and 18 rebounds and the other American import point guard Avery Scharer (185-86, college: Shoreline CC) who added 22 points, 8 rebounds and 12 assists during the contest. Scharer is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. At the losing side guard Chatchon Kamchoo (176) responded with 17 points and 4 assists and Olaseni Songbesan produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Raptors maintains fourth position with 9-6 record, which they share with Shoot it Dragon. SWU lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with ten games lost. They share the position with Bangkok Tigers. Raptors will meet at home league's leader Hitech in the next round and it may be the game of the week. SWU will play against Bangkok Tigers (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
