TPBL Round 27 (Regular Season): Dreamers are defeated by Kings

There will be only one (last) round of the Regular Season in TPBL. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The game between second ranked Dreamers (22-14) and fifth ranked Kings (18-15) was the most important one in the last round on Friday night. Dreamers were defeated by Kings in a tough game 99-105. Kings looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. 27 personal fouls committed by Dreamers helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for American-Bulgarian center Jason Washburn (213-1990, college: Utah, agency: Pensack Sports) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 12 rebounds. American Austin Daye (209-1988, college: Gonzaga, agency: Slash Sports) helped adding 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was international center Brandon Gilbeck (213-1996, college: W.Illinois) with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 13 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field). Defending champion maintains fifth place with 18-15 record. Dreamers at the other side keep the second position with 14 games lost. Kings' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Taipei N.Taipei CTBC.
Very significant was Leopards' (#1, 23-12) victory against second-best Dreamers (22-14) 104-100. It was an exceptional evening for American-Liberian Lasan Kromah (198-1991, college: UConn, agency: LHZ Sport Agency) who led the winners and scored 35 points (!!!). Cheick Diallo accounted for 23 points and 11 rebounds. American power forward Aric Holman (208-1997, college: MSU) came up with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 17 rebounds for Dreamers in the defeat. Taiwan Beer L. maintains first place with 23-12 record. Dreamers at the other side keep the second position with 14 games lost. Taiwan Beer L. will play against Kings (#5) in Taipei in the next round. Dreamers will have a break next round.
TPBL top team - Leopards (23-12) managed to deliver another win on Saturday. This time they beat seventh ranked Aquas (9-26) in Taoyuan 99-85. The best player for the winners was Cheick Diallo who had a double-double by scoring 31 points and 18 rebounds (on 13-of-16 shooting from the field). Leopards' coach Henrik Roedl used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Hunter Maldonado who recorded a triple-double by scoring 24 points, 10 rebounds and 14 assists. Taiwan Beer L. maintains first place with 23-12 record. Kaohsiung A. lost fifth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 26 lost games. Taiwan Beer L. will meet Kings (#5) in the next round. Kaohsiung A. will play against Lioneers in Hsinchu and hope to secure a win.

In the last two games of round 27 Lioneers won against Taipei TM 104-86. Taipei TM unfortunately lost to N.Taipei CTBC 103-111.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 26 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists by Viktor Gaddefors of N.Taipei CTBC.



Kings - Dreamers 105-99

The game between second ranked Dreamers (22-14) and fifth ranked Kings (18-15) was the most important one in the last round on Friday night. Dreamers were defeated by Kings in a tough game 99-105. TPBL top team - Leopards (23-12) managed to deliver another win on Saturday. This time they beat seventh ranked Aquas (9-26) in Taoyuan 99-85. Taiwan Beer L. outrebounded Kaohsiung A. 55-42 including a 41-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. Taiwan Beer L. looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. The best player for the winners was Mali power forward Cheick Diallo (206-1996, college: Kansas) who had a double-double by scoring 31 points and 18 rebounds (on 13-of-16 shooting from the field). American forward Malcolm Miller (201-1993, college: Holy Cross) chipped in a double-double by scoring 29 points and 10 rebounds. Leopards' coach Henrik Roedl used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Hunter Maldonado (201-1999, college: Wyoming, agency: Octagon Europe) who recorded a triple-double by scoring 24 points, 10 rebounds and 14 assists and Lithuanian Edgaras Zelionis (207-1989) added 33 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds respectively. Taipei TM - Lioneers 86-104

Rather expected game when 6th ranked Mars (11-24) were defeated by third ranked Lioneers (19-14) 104-86 on Saturday. Lioneers made 23-of-30 free shots (76.7 percent) during the game. Lioneers outrebounded Taipei TM 44-28 including 31 on the defensive glass. Lioneers looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was Croatian center Marin Maric (211-1994, college: DePaul, agency: BIG) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Kuan-Hsuan Lu (182-1995) chipped in 27 points. At the other side the best for losing team was Senegalese center Youssou Ndoye (213-1991, college: St.Bonaventure) who recorded a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds and the former international guard Sheng-Ju Ting (174-1998, college: St.Francis, IL) added 14 points and 13 assists respectively. Four Lioneers and five Taipei TM players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Lioneers maintains third place with 19-14 record having six points less than leader Taiwan Beer L. Taipei TM lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 24 games lost. Lioneers will meet bottom-ranked Kaohsiung A. (#7) in the next round. Taipei TM will play again against Lioneers in Hsinchu and hope to secure a win.

The game between closely ranked teams ended with fifth ranked DEA's (19-16) victory over 6th ranked Mars (11-24) 111-103 on Sunday. N.Taipei CTBC made 24-of-24 free shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. N.Taipei CTBC had a 19-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. The best player for the winners was Swedish forward Viktor Gaddefors (201-1992, agency: 011 Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Montenegrin power forward Nemanja Radovic (208-1991) chipped in 27 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). DEA's coach Momir Ratkovic used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international guard Sheng-Ju Ting (174-1998, college: St.Francis, IL) who recorded a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 11 assists and Senegalese center Youssou Ndoye (213-1991, college: St.Bonaventure) added 18 points and 16 rebounds respectively. Five N.Taipei CTBC and four Taipei TM players scored in double figures. DEA have a solid series of three victories in a row. N.Taipei CTBC moved-up to fourth place. Taipei TM lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 24 games lost. N.Taipei CTBC's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Taipei to the arena Kings.
