The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Yulon Luxgen (19-8) against fifth ranked Changhua on Wednesday night. Yulon Luxgen were defeated by fifth ranked Changhua (6-20) 69-62. Changhua dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Yulon Luxgen's 34. Strangely Yulon Luxgen outrebounded Changhua 46-34 including a 19-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Filipino forward Nicholas Evans (210-1988, college: S.Indiana, agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Tien-You Yang (170-1993) who added 13 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was American Brandon Moss (204-1994, college: LSUA) with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Changhua maintains fifth position with 6-20 record. Yulon Luxgen at the other side still keeps top place with eight games lost. Changhua are looking forward to face higher ranked Keelung BK (#3) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Yulon Luxgen will play against Keelung BK and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Fourth-ranked Taiwan Beer (11-16) gave a tough game to first ranked Yulon Luxgen (19-8). Yulon Luxgen managed to secure only two-point victory 70-68. However their fans expected easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Taiwan Beer. The winners were led by American Brandon Moss (204-1994, college: LSUA) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 26 points, 20 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 blocks and Shao-Fu Lan supported him with 6 points and 8 rebounds. Even a double-double of 10 points and 11 rebounds by Vincentian forward Brendon Smart (198-1995) did not help to save the game for Taiwan Beer.
