Top ranked Taiyuan Textile (19-2) recorded its second loss against second ranked Cathay Life on Sunday night. Cathay Life were edged by Cathay Life 57-54. It ended at the same time the 16-game winning streak of Taiyuan Textile. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. New Zealand forward Penina Davidson (190-1995, college: California) fired a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. The former international forward Ya-En Han (180-1995) chipped in 9 points and 5 rebounds. German center Marie Guelich (194-1994, college: Oregon St.) produced 8 points and 9 rebounds for lost side. Taiyuan Textile's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Defending champion maintains second place with 16-5 record having just three points less than leader Taiyuan T. Taiyuan T. at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost. Cathay Life are looking forward to face league's leader Taiyuan T. in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Taiyuan T. will play against Chunghua T. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Worth to mention a great performance of New Zealand forward Penina Davidson (190-1995, college: California) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. I-Hsiu Cheng contributed with 10 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. The former international guard Hui-Ju Liu (163-1996) answered with 10 points and 6 assists for Chunghua T.The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion maintains second place with 16-5 record having just three points less than leader Taiyuan T. Chunghua T. at the other side keeps the third position with 14 games lost. Cathay Life will play against league's leader Taiyuan T. in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Chunghua T. will play against Taipower and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Taiyuan Textile have an impressive series of sixteen victories in a row. Taiyuan T. maintains first place with 19-2 record. Loser Taipower still closes the standings. Taiyuan T. will meet league's second-placed Cathay Life in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Taipower will play against Chunghua T. and hopes to get finally their first victory.

There was no surprise when 4th placed Taipower (0-21) was defeated by second ranked Cathay Life (16-5) 82-64 on Saturday. Cathay Life dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Taipower's 26. They outrebounded Taipower 34-21 including 24 on the defensive glass. Cathay Life looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a great evening for New Zealand forward Penina Davidson (190-1995, college: California) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. The former international forward Ling-Chuan Huang (175-1994) helped adding 16 points. Cathay Life's coach Hui-Yun Cheng let to play all 12 players and allowed the starting five to rest.
