Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Taiwan Beer (16-8) against third ranked Yulon Luxgen on Sunday night. Yulon Luxgen were defeated by Yulon Luxgen 83-71. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Taiwan Beer. Worth to mention a great performance of American Brandon Moss (207-1994, college: LSUA) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 27 points, 20 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international point guard Ming-Yi Lin (178-1996) who added 19 points and 4 assists during the contest. American power forward John Fields (205-1988, college: Tennessee) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 17 rebounds. Defending champion maintains third position with 12-12 record having four points less than leader Taiwan Beer. Taiwan Beer at the other side still keeps top place with eight games lost.

It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Yulon Luxgen. The winners were led by American center Tevin Glass (203-1994, college: ETSU) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 29 points and 12 rebounds and Chen-Yuan Wang supported him with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Even a double-double of 35 points (!!!), 20 rebounds and 4 assists by American Brandon Moss (207-1994, college: LSUA) did not help to save the game for Yulon Luxgen. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Changhua maintains fourth position with 7-17 record. Defending champion Yulon Luxgen keeps the third place with 12 games lost.

The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Taiwan Beer maintains first position with 16-8 record. Loser Bank of Taiwan keeps the second place with 11 games lost.

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 8: bottom-ranked Changhua lost to Taiwan Beer 80-85. Yulon Luxgen outscored Bank of Taiwan 93-69. Bottom-ranked Changhua was rolled over Bank of Taiwan 84-57.



Bank of Taiwan - Taiwan Beer 59-80

Very significant was Taiwan Beer's (#1, 16-8) victory against second-ranked Bank of Taiwan (13-11) 80-59. Taiwan Beer outrebounded Bank of Taiwan 47-33 including a 34-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Taiwan Beer looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Bank of Taiwan's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Taiwan Beer made 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was American power forward John Fields (205-1988, college: Tennessee) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 22 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Guard Zong-Lin Lu (175-1994) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 assists. Lu is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Taiwan Beer players scored in double figures. Canadian forward Maurice Calloo (208-1999, college: Oregon St.) produced 25 points and 9 rebounds and the former international swingman Yu-Hsu Chen (195-1990) added 8 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Taiwan Beer. Rather expected game when 4th ranked Changhua (7-17) was defeated by first ranked Taiwan Beer (16-8) 85-80 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was American power forward John Fields (205-1988, college: Tennessee) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Guard Zong-Lin Lu (175-1994) chipped in 17 points and 7 assists. Lu is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Center Erdenetsetseg Sugar-Ochir (200-1999) produced 27 points and 7 rebounds and American center Tevin Glass (203-1994, college: ETSU) added 16 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) respectively for Taiwan Beer. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Changhua's coach Chun-Hsiung Wu rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Taiwan Beer maintains first position with 16-8 record. Loser Changhua stay at the bottom place with 17 games lost.
