SBL Round 8: Jeoutai defeat Taiwan Beer

The most crucial game of the last round was another loss of top-ranked Taiwan Beer (15-4) against third ranked Jeoutai on Saturday night. Jeoutai were defeated by Jeoutai 78-70. Jeoutai shot 22 for 32 from the free-throw line, while Taiwan Beer only scored three points from the stripe. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Taiwan Beer helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American power forward Jalen Robinson (206-1993, college: Dalton St.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists. Canadian-American swingman Nicholas Wiggins (198-1991, college: Z*Orangeville A's) contributed with 16 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American swingman Kentrell Barkley (195-1996, college: ECU, agency: Haylett Sports) replied with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists for Taiwan Beer. Despite that victory Jeoutai went down to fourth position due to points difference. Taiwan Beer at the other side still keeps top place with four games lost. Jeoutai are again looking forward to face league's leader Taiwan Beer in Taipei in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Taiwan Beer will play against the league's second-placed Bank of Taiwan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Torren Jones (206-1994, college: William Penn) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points, 19 rebounds and 4 assists and Ba Ban who added 27 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. American power forward Jalen Robinson (206-1993, college: Dalton St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 14 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Yulon Luxgen moved-up to third place. Jeoutai at the other side dropped to the fourth position with 11 games lost. Yulon Luxgen will play against bottom-ranked Pauian (#5) in the next round. Jeoutai will play against the league's leader Taiwan Beer and hopes to get back on the winning track.
