DAMASCUS - In a high-stakes Syrian Men’s League matchup at Al Wahda Club, Al Karamah staged a dramatic fourth-quarter comeback to defeat Al Wahda 77-70 on Monday night. Despite trailing for more than 32 minutes of the game, Al Karamah utilized a dominant final period to secure the victory.

The Turnaround
The game began with Al Wahda firmly in control, racing out to an early 14-point lead (20-6) fueled by a 10-0 scoring run. Al Wahda maintained their advantage through the first three quarters, leading 26-19 after the first and heading into the final frame with a narrow lead.

However, the momentum shifted entirely in the fourth quarter. Al Karamah outscored the hosts 23-13 in the final ten minutes, turning a deficit into a seven-point victory. The "Blue Eagles" took their first lead late in the game and held it for just under six minutes in total, but they made those minutes count by reaching their biggest lead of 8 points (71-63) during the closing stretch.

Key Performers
Al Karamah (KRM):

Abdulwahab Alhamwi (218-C-1990): The standout performer for the visitors, recording 19 points and 7 rebounds while shooting 50% from beyond the arc (4/8).

Keven Gomes (211-C-1995): Provided a significant interior presence with 16 points on 60% shooting from the field.

Brandon Alston (196-G-1995, college: Georgia Tech): Contributed 15 points, including a perfect 2-for-2 from the free-throw line.

Al Wahda (WHD):

Falando Jones (193-SF-1990, college: MVSU): Led Al Wahda with 17 points and a team-high 10 rebounds, recording a double-double in nearly 30 minutes of play.

James Justice (178-SG-1989, college: UT Southern): Scored 16 points and grabbed 5 rebounds, though he struggled with shooting efficiency (5/20 from the field).

Elias Azrie (185-G-2002): Provided a boost with 10 points on highly efficient 5-of-7 shooting.

By the Numbers
The box score revealed a tale of two different styles of play. Al Wahda dominated in transition and forced mistakes, outscoring Al Karamah 23-9 in points off turnovers and 20-4 in fast-break points. They also controlled the interior with 36 points in the paint compared to Al Karamah's 26.

Al Karamah's victory was largely due to their superior bench depth and perimeter shooting. The Al Karamah reserves outscored Al Wahda’s bench 45-15, providing the fresh legs needed for the late-game surge. Additionally, Al Karamah shot a respectable 34.6% from three-point range, while Al Wahda struggled significantly from deep, hitting only 13.9% (5/36) of their attempts.
