Al Wahda tabs Donte McGill, ex Al Wehda

Donte McGill

Defending champion Al Wahda Damascus (SBL) signed 28-year-old American 190cm guard Donte McGill (college: FIU). He began the season with Al Wehda in the Saudi Arabian SBL league. In 15 games, he averaged an impressive 33.8ppg, 5.7rpg, 4.1apg, and 1.4spg. McGill was also named League Player of the Week four times. Last season, he played for Al Wakrah (QBL) in the Qatari league.
In 2017, he was drafted by the Lakeland Magic (G-League) in the fourth round (81st overall).
He graduated from Florida International University and it's his seventh season in pro basketball.
He is a very experienced player, having played professionally in Kazakhstan, Poland, Qatar, and the NBA G League. His pro career has taken him to five different countries on three different continents - Europe, Asia, and North America.
He was named to the Asia-Basket.com Kazakhstan League All-Tournament Team in 2019.
It's worth mentioning that he also played at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him land a job in professional basketball. In addition, he played for other colleges such as Vincennes University and Goldey-Beacom College.
