SBL Round 13 (Regular Season): Al Jaish defeat Al Nawaeer

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Al Nawaeer (9-4) in Damascus on Friday night. Visitors were rolled over by sixth ranked Al Jaish (8-6) 91-68. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Al Nawaeer. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Al Jaish have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They moved-up to second place. Al Nawaeer at the other side still keeps top position with four games lost.
Very important is a road loss of second ranked Al Ittihad (7-5) against fourth ranked Al Karameh (7-5) on Sunday night. Visiting Al Ittihad was defeated by Al Karameh in a tough game in Homs 75-79. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Al Ittihad. Al Karameh moved-up to third place, which they share with Al Wahda and Al Ittihad.
The game in Aleppo was also quite interesting. Sixth ranked Al Jaish (8-6) played at the court of 7th ranked Al Hurriyeh (4-7). Al Jaish did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 94-75 on Sunday. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Al Jaish. They moved-up to second place. Al Hurriyeh lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the seventh position with seven games lost.

In the last game of round 13 Al Hurriyeh was beaten by Al Wahda on the road 91-73.

Defending champion moved-up to third place, which they share with Al Ittihad and Al Karameh. Al Hurriyeh lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the seventh position with seven games lost.
