SBL Round 8 (Regular Season): Al Wahda lose Al Jalaa

Round 8 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Al Wahda (5-3). They were crushed by sixth ranked Al Jalaa (4-3) 88-65 on Monday night. Al Jalaa moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Al Hurriyeh. Defending champion Al Wahda dropped to the third position with three games lost. They share it with Al Nawaeer. They were replaced at the leadership position by Al Karameh. Al Wahda will play next round against Al Wathba trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Al Jalaa will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked Al Hurriyeh. It will be extra interesting game as Al Hurriyeh is their local rival from Aleppo.
The game had a very big importance for fourth-ranked Al Karameh as it allowed them to take a leadership position after previous leader's (Al Wahda) loss. Al Nawaeer moved-up to third place, which they share with Al Wahda. Al Hurriyeh at the other side dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. They share it with Al Jalaa. Al Nawaeer will meet at home league's second-placed Al Ittihad in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Al Hurriyeh's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Aleppo Al Jalaa.

Al Ittihad keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Al Karameh. Al Wathba at the other side still closes the standings with eight games lost.
