SBL Round 12: Al Ittihad keeps a leadership position

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Al Ittihad as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Al Ittihad smashed 8th ranked Al Hurriyeh in Aleppo 80-61. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Al Jaish. Al Hurriyeh lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with seven games lost. Al Hurriyeh will play next round against strong Al Karameh trying to get back on the winning streak. Al Ittihad will try to continue on its current victory against eleventh ranked Al Wathba in Homs.
Very important is a road loss of third ranked Al Jalaa (6-2) against fourth ranked Al Karameh (6-2) on Friday night. Visiting Al Jalaa was defeated by Al Karameh in a tough game in Homs 68-75. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Al Jalaa. Al Karameh have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with defeated Al Jalaa. Al Karameh will play against Al Hurriyeh (#8) in Aleppo in the next round where they are favorite. Al Jalaa will play at home against the league's second-placed Al Jaish (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Second ranked Al Ittihad blasted bottom-ranked Al Taleiah (0-8) in Aleppo 116-46 on Friday evening. Al Taleiah is still unable to win any game. Defending champion (8-1) keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Al Jaish. Al Taleiah at the other side still closes the standings with eight games lost. Al Ittihad will meet at home bottom-ranked Al Wathba (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Al Taleiah will play against Tishreen and hopes to get finally their first victory.

In the last two games of round 12 Al Hurriyeh was smashed by Al Jaish on the road 96-69. Hutteen was destroyed by Al Wahda on its own court 57-86.
