SBL Round 11: Al Jalaa hands first defeat to Al Ittihad

Al Ittihad (6-1) recorded its first loss in Aleppo on Monday night. Visitors were edged by third ranked Al Jalaa (6-1) 65-63. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Al Ittihad. Al Jalaa have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with defeated Al Ittihad.
Important game to mention about took place in Damascus. Second ranked Al Ittihad (6-1) saved a 2-point derby victory on the road edging 7th ranked Al Wahda (4-3) 72-70 on Thursday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Al Ittihad. Defending champion maintains second place with 6-1 record behind leader Al Jaish, which they share with Al Jalaa. Al Wahda lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the sixth position with three games lost.
An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Damascus. First ranked Al Jaish faced 3rd placed Al Nawaeer. Host Al Jaish (7-1) defeated guests from Hama (5-2) 75-69. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Al Nawaeer. Al Jaish maintains first place with 7-1 record. Al Nawaeer at the other side dropped to the fourth position with two games lost. They share it with Al Karameh.

Other games of round 11 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Al Karameh crushed Tishreen in Homs 106-75. Winless Al Wathba was beaten by Al Jalaa at home 62-80. Al Wahda destroyed Al Taleiah on the opponent's court 130-75.




Al Wahda - Al Ittihad 70-72

No shocking result in a game in Homs where third ranked Al Jalaa (6-1) defeated bottom-ranked Al Wathba (0-9) 80-62 on Friday. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Al Jalaa. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Al Ittihad. Al Wathba lost their ninth game in a row. They still close the standings with nine games lost.

Rather expected game in Hama where bottom-ranked Al Taleiah (0-7) was rolled over by seventh ranked Al Wahda (4-3) 130-75 on Sunday. Al Wahda moved-up to sixth place. Al Taleiah lost their seventh game in a row. They still close the standings with seven games lost.
