Al-Karameh-Homs (SBL) signed 33-year old American power forward Rickey Young (205cm-100kg-1990, college: WVU Tech). Young started the season at Kazma in Kuwaiti D1 league. In four games he had 12.0ppg and 5.5rpg.
He is quite experienced player. Young has played in twelve different countries on five different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America, Africa and of course North America). He has played previously professionally also in Bahrain (Al-Riffa), Finland (HoNsU Basket), Germany (46ers), Iraq (Al Karkh, Al Naft and Air Defence Sporting Club), Kosovo (Bashkimi), Montenegro, Qatar (Al Khor), Saudi Arabia (Al Hilal and Al Nassr), Bolivia (LS Olympic, La Salle and Calero), United Arab Emirates (Baniyas and Al Bataeh) and Libya (Al Ittihad). Young won Iraqi League championship title in 2016, 2017 and 2018.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others he was voted Afrobasket.com All-Libyan League Power Forward of the Year in 2022.
He graduated from West Virginia University Institute of Technology in 2011 and it is his twelfth (!!!) season as a professional player.
Young could be described: Ricky Young is the only player from USA, that is born 1990, and have 2 years experience in European league, outstanding jumping abilities, and athleticism, very fast, run floor good, good rebounder, blocker, can shoot from outside, team player, very coachable, definitely NBA potential..
