Al Jalaa tabs Leon Hampton, ex Jaguares

Leon Hampton

Al-Jalaa-Aleppo (SBL) inked 27-year old American 213cm center Leon Hampton (college: Stillman). Hampton played last summer at Jaguares in Nicaraguan LSB league. In 22 games he averaged 13.1ppg, 12.6rpg, 1.3apg and 2.6bpg. He helped them to make it to the semifinals. A very good season in his career as he was voted to Latinbasket.com All-Nicaraguan LSB Honorable Mention and League Player of the Week (3 times). Hampton also played for another team Fire in U.S. semi-pro league TBL where in 8 games he had 4.1ppg and 4.4rpg.
He is a very experienced player. Hampton has quite traveled the world as his pro career brought him to five different countries on four different continents (Asia, Latin America, Africa and of course North America). He has played previously professionally also in Argentina (Parque Sur), Morocco (RSB Berkane), Dominican Republic (Marineros) and Vietnam (Catfish).
Among many awards his team won Nicaraguan LSB Regular Season in 2021. Hampton was also selected to Asia-Basket.com All-Vietnamese VBA Defensive Player of the Year back in 2020.
Worth to mention he played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him to get the job in pro basketball.
He graduated from Stillman College in 2019 and it will be his fourth season in pro basketball.
