SBL Round 22: Al Wahda lose to Al Ittihad

Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

Round in Division I means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Aleppo where host Al Ittihad (23-2) beat league's leader Al Wahda (22-1) 63-46 on Friday evening. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Al Wahda. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Al Ittihad have an impressive 20-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader. Al Wahda at the other side dropped to the second place with one game lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Al Ittihad.
Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Homs: Al Wathba (#7) and Al Karameh (#3). Al Wathba (12-13) won against visiting Al Karameh (19-8) 84-79. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Al Karameh. Al Wathba maintains seventh position with 12-13 record. Defending champion Al Karameh keeps the third place with eight games lost.
An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Damascus. Fourth ranked Al Jaish faced their close opponent Al Nawaeer. Host Al Jaish (16-8) defeated guests from Hama (12-10) 89-74. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Al Nawaeer. Al Jaish maintains fourth position with 16-8 record. Loser Al Nawaeer dropped to the sixth place with ten games lost.

Rest of the games of round 22 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Al Ittihad defeated Al Wathba in Aleppo 61-57. Al Hurriyeh was beaten by Al Taleiah at home 73-78. Al Thawra lost to Hutteen on the opponent's court 50-63.



Al Jaish - Al Nawaeer 89-74

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Damascus. Fourth ranked Al Jaish faced their close opponent Al Nawaeer. Host Al Jaish (16-8) defeated guests from Hama (12-10) 89-74. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Al Nawaeer. Al Jaish maintains fourth position with 16-8 record. Loser Al Nawaeer dropped to the sixth place with ten games lost.

The game between closely ranked teams ended with eighth ranked Al Taleiah's (7-15) road victory over 9th ranked Al Hurriyeh (6-17) 78-73 on Sunday. Al Taleiah maintains eighth position with 7-15 record. Al Hurriyeh lost eleventh consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with 17 games lost.
