Al Wathba signs Wissam Yaqqub

Wissam Yaqqub

Al Wathba Homs (Division I) signed experienced 37-year old ex-international center Wissam Yaqqub (212-113kg-82). He was about to sign at Al Jalaa.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others Yaqqub played in the final of Syrian League in 2006, 2010 and 2016. He was also voted Asia-Basket.com All-Syrian League Defensive Player of the Year back in 2016.
Yaqqub represented Syria at the West Asia Basketball Championships in Amman (Jordan) four years ago.
He has spent his entire career in Syria playing for three other teams: Al Wahda, Al Jaish and Al Karameh.
Yaqqub is close to retirement age as a player. It's very possible he may end his playing career at Al Wathba.
