Anyang KGC are the 2012 KBL Champions after defeating the Wonju Dongbu Promy 66-64 in Game 6 of the finals. For the second game in a row Wonju squandered a double-digit lead late, opening the door for KGC to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. Chris Daniels (211-C-84) led Anyang with 15 points and 16 rebounds while Yoon Ho-Young (198-F-84) led the Promy with 19. Rod Benson (207-F/C-84, college: California) contributed 15 points and 14 rebounds.
Offensive rebounding was again a huge factor as KGC had 9 to Wonju's 1, but the only thing that really matters in the game is that Wonju choked away a 17 point lead and only managed 11 points in the 4th quarter. KGC took the lead with 9 seconds left in the game. Lee Kwang-Jae pushed the ball up the floor and found Benson with space to move in the pain. Benson drove to the basket and was probably fouled by at least one of the two defenders who met him in the air but there was no whistle. While Benson should have been given the chance to tie the game at the line, Wonju shouldn't have choked away their seemingly commanding lead in the last two games.
