Woori Bank extended their WKBL dominance. They beat KB Stars on the road tonight to sweep the championship series. The victory marked the sixth consecutive WKBL triumph for Woori Bank. Lim Yong-Hui (178-F-80) came up with 24 points to pace the champions.
Woori Bank stamped their authority early. They used a 23:8 run in the first period to clear off. KB Stars picked up the slack in the second term. They dropped 16 points to cut the distance at 11-point mark at halftime. KB Stars sank 23 points in the third period to pull within 7 points at the final intermission. But Woori Bank lived up to the challenge. They ignited a decisive 21:10 rally in the fourth quarter to ice the win. Park Hye-Jin (178-G-90) tossed in 20 points, while Natalie Achonwa (190-F-92, college: Notre Dame) had 12 points and 13 rebounds for Woori Bank. Monique Currie (183-G/F-83, college: Duke) answered with 20 points for KB Stars.
