Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

Third-ranked Chong Ghee (15-7) was very close to win a game against second ranked Hornets (20-2) in Singapore on Sunday. Hornets managed to secure only two-point victory 77-75. However their fans expected easier game. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Chong Ghee. The former international guard Kelvin Lim (191-1996) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Malaysian center Russell Low-Wen (200-1993) contributed with 17 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Christian Pepito answered with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for Chong Ghee. Hornets keep a position of league leader, which they share with Adroit. Chong Ghee at the other side keeps the third place with seven games lost. They share the position with Tagawa.
Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Singapore: Adroit (#1) and Xin Hua (#5). Xin Hua was crushed at home by 38 points 57-95 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Xin Hua. It was a great evening for the former international guard Larry-Hua Liew (191-1993) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points and 5 rebounds. Zhong-Han Wong helped adding 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. International guard Terry Lua (191-1997) responded with 14 points and 5 rebounds. Defending champion maintains first place with 20-2 record, which they share with Hornets. Xin Hua at the other side keeps the fifth position with nine games lost.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 23: Tungsan was beaten by Tong Whye on the road 69-58. Tagawa won against Police on its own court 72-54. Siglap unfortunately lost to SBA in a road game 77-89.




Tong Whye - Tungsan 69-58

No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Tong Whye (12-10) beat 10th ranked Tungsan (4-18) in Singapore 69-58. Tong Whye outrebounded Tungsan 51-36 including a 35-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Tong Whye players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. It was a great evening for the former international center Yeong-Wooi Khaw (200-1990) who led his team to a victory scoring 7 points, 14 rebounds and 11 assists. Sashi Pillay helped adding 15 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Prasant Selvakumar responded with 22 points and 5 rebounds and Xun Owen Liow produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Tungsan's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Tong Whye maintains sixth place with 12-10 record. Tungsan lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth position with 18 games lost. They share it with Police.

Tagawa - Police 72-54

Very expected game when 10th ranked Police (4-18) lost to fourth ranked Tagawa (15-7) in Singapore 54-72. It was a great evening for Reece Low who led his team to a victory scoring 13 points and 7 rebounds. International forward Shi-Yu Ng (197-2000) helped adding 6 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Tagawa's coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Wei How Chua responded with 11 points and 9 rebounds and Bayot Ferrera scored 16 points. Tagawa moved-up to third place, which they share with Chong Ghee. Newly promoted Police keeps the tenth position with 18 games lost. They share it with Tungsan.

The game between closely ranked teams ended with seventh ranked SBA's (11-11) home victory over 8th ranked Siglap (8-14) 89-77. It was a great evening for Louis Ho-Ren who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points and 4 assists. Sze Tuan Teo helped adding 16 points and 10 rebounds. The former international guard Gavin Tay (188-1999) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists and Zahid Mohamed scored 26 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. SBA have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain seventh place with 11-11 record. Siglap at the other side keeps the eighth position with 14 games lost.
