This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 5th ranked Xin Hua (9-8) to seventh ranked SBA (8-9) 73-71 on Tuesday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Xin Hua. Haran Prem fired 16 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Wei Shern Ooi chipped in 15 points and 9 rebounds. The former international point guard John-Jing Ng (190-1994) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists for lost side. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. SBA moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Tong Whye. Xin Hua at the other side keeps the fifth position with eight games lost. Undefeated leader Hornets delivered the eighteenth consecutive victory on Wednesday night. This time they beat 12th ranked Police (3-15) 73-61 in Singapore. It was a great evening for Royston Goh-Yong who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists. At the losing side Wei How Chua responded with 11 points and 9 rebounds. Undefeated Hornets (18-0) have an impressive series of eighteen victories in a row. They maintain first place with a perfect record of 18 victories in a row. Newly promoted Police stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. Hornets' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Singapore to the arena Xin Hua.
