Tay's 14 points and 8 rebounds give him Player of the Week award

24-year old guard Gavin Tay (188-G-1999) had an amazing evening in the last round for Siglap Basketball Club and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 1.
He had the game-high 14 points adding eight rebounds and three assists for Siglap in his team's victory, helping them to edge out Police (#9, 0-1), the league's bottom-ranked team 64-60. Thanks to this victory Siglap moved-up to the 3rd position in Singapore league. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Siglap won just one (their first) game. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. In the team's last game Tay had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Siglap and it was his first game, where he immediately became new team's leader. Tay has impressive league stats. He is league's best passer with 3.0apg. Tay is in league's top in and averages solid 66.7% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Meng Leon Kwek Wei (190-SG-1996) of top-ranked Adroit. He is international guard in his first (recently joined) season at Adroit. In the last game Kwek Wei recorded an impressive 24 points and 4 rebounds. Of course he led Adroit to another comfortable win outscoring Tagawa (0-1) 75-54. His team has extremely good start of the season. They won their first game. However the season is at the beginning, so everything can happen. They still may lose their high position in the standings. Kwek Wei is one of the most experienced players at Adroit and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 24.0ppg (#1).

Third place about best performers goes to forward Shengyu Lim (192-F/C-1990) of SG Basketball (#10). Lim scored 17 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. Despite Lim's great performance the SG Bball lost 73-75 to Tong Whye (#4, 1-0). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The season just started for Lim as he played only first game. But it already looks like he can be team's leader.

10. Darren Ng (189-G-1983) of Tagawa - 14 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
