Khaw-Yeong put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Tong Whye, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 8.
The player had a double-double of 28 points and 20 rebounds, while his team crushed GBA Hoops (#9, 1-7) with 16-point margin 80-64. Tong Whye maintains the 6th position in Singapore NBL. Tong Whye is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 4-4 record. Khaw-Yeong turned to be Tong Whye's top player in his first season with the team. Wooi
Khaw-Yeong has solid league stats. He leads league in rebounds with 13.6rpg. Khaw-Yeong is in league's top in assists (7th best: 2.9apg).
The second best player in last round's games was young Benjamin Lim (184-G-1997) of Nanyang. Lim had a very good evening with a double-double of 27 points and 17 rebounds. Bad luck as Nanyang was edged by slightly lower-ranked SAF (#8, 2-6) 67-64. Nanyang managed to keep the same 7th spot in the standings. 5 lost games are too many comparing to just two victories Nanyang managed to get this year. Lim is a newcomer at Nanyang, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 15.5ppg (#5). He also registered 10.5 boards per game.
Third on the list of top players last round was Kelvin Lim-Hong of league's second-best Hornets. Lim-Hong scored 21 points and grabbed twelve rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Hornets, leading his team to a 82-60 easy win against #4 ranked Xin Hua in a game of the week. Hornets is closer and closer to top of the standings. They will still need more victories. But 7-1 record is not that bad... Lim-Hong has a great season in Singapore. After only 7 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 10.0rpg (6th best).

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
