Hornets - Tagawa 94-49 Bottom-ranked Tagawa is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they lost on the road their seventh consecutive match to second ranked Hornets (6-1) 94-49 on Wednesday evening. Hornets dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Tagawa's 16. They outrebounded Tagawa 59-21 including a 44-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Hornets made 7 blocks. It was an exceptional evening for Kelvin Lim-Hong who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds. Loon Tay-Ding (185-1994) accounted for 23 points for the winning side. Four Hornets players scored in double figures. Jie Hiew-Zi came up with 21 points and Andrew Zee-Kin added 11 points respectively for Tagawa in the defeat. Tagawa's coach gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Hornets maintains second place with 6-1 record having just one point less than leader Adroit, which they share with Xin Hua. Tagawa lost their seventh game in a row. They outrebounded Tong Whye 62-47 including a 24-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for Han Wong-Zhong who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds. Center Herman Chan (190-1997) helped adding 12 points and 14 rebounds. At the losing side Zhen Zhen-Yu responded with 22 points and 8 rebounds and Wooi Khaw-Yeong produced a double-double by scoring 10 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Adroit have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place with 6-0 record. Tong Whye at the other side keeps the sixth position with four games lost. Adroit will play against bottom-ranked Tagawa (#10) in Singapore in the next round and are hoping to win another game. It was an exceptional evening for Yang Ng-Shi who led the winners and scored 27 points and 6 rebounds (perfect behind the arc making all five shots). Fatt Ngow-Jia accounted for 11 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side. Espinosa Haribon came up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds and Jordan Lee-Jun added 3 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for GBA Hoops in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. SG Bball maintains fifth place with 4-3 record. Newly promoted GBA Hoops keep the eighth position with six games lost. They share it with SAF. SG Bball will meet at home higher ranked Siglap (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. GBA Hoops will play against Tong Whye (#6) in Singapore and it may be a tough game between close rivals. Worth to mention a great performance of Chiang Goh-Kok who helped to win the game recording 9 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Lim Shawn Fang contributed with 17 points and 5 steals for the winners. International center Lavin Raj V (200-2000) answered with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 15 rebounds and YU Ng-Shi added 11 points and 14 rebounds in the effort for SAF. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Xin Hua. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Hornets. Newly promoted Nanyang keeps the seventh position with four games lost.
