SBL Round 22: Al Ahli celebrate the title-Apr 1, 2023
Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

An interesting game for Al Nassr (19-3) which hosted in Riyadh one of their biggest challengers Al Fateh (16-6). Second ranked Al Nassr had an easy win 90-75. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Al Fateh. Al Nassr made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Marcus Thomas (191-1995, college: Rosemont) who helped to win the game recording 23 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. The other American import forward Antonio Campbell (206-1994, college: Ohio) contributed with 21 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Algerian forward Mohamed Harat (198-1990) replied with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 15 rebounds for Al Fateh. Al Nassr maintains second position with 19-3 record behind leader Al Ahli. Al Fateh at the other side keeps the third place with six games lost. They share the position with Ohod.
Bottom-ranked Al Taawoun managed to get a fourth victory, breaking the five-game losing streak. This time newly promoted Al Taawoun outleveled sixth-ranked Al Wehda 97-69. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 28-point difference proves that Al Taawoun was well-prepared to that game. Serbian power forward Aleksandar Marelja (207-1992) had a double-double by scoring 22 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Darious Clark chipped in 29 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side forward Husam Bagdadi responded with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Al Taawoun (4-18) moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Al Ansar. Al Wehda at the other side keeps the sixth position with ten games lost.
SBL top team - Al Ahli (20-2) had no problems winning another game on Friday. This time they crushed tenth ranked Al Ansar (4-18) in Medina 95-75. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Al Ansar. Marzouq Almuwallad notched a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals to lead the effort. Al Ahli's coach Ali Alsanhani used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even a double-double of 18 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists by Raymond Miller did not help to save the game for Al Ansar. Al Ahli have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 20-2 record. Loser Al Ansar keeps the tenth place with 18 games lost. They share the position with Al Taawoun.

Other games in round 22 were not that significant. Al Salam beat Al Adalah on the road 78-63. Deba lost to Ittihad on its own court 65-69. Al Hilal managed to outperform Ohod in Riyadh 100-91.
The most impressive performance of 22th round was 36 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds by Clinton Chapman of Al Hilal.

Al Adalah - Al Salam 63-78

No shocking result in a game when eighth ranked Al Salam (8-14) beat on the road bottom-ranked Al Adalah (3-19) 78-63 on Friday. American forward Nick Stover (198-1993, college: USA) notched a double-double by scoring 28 points, 5 rebounds and 12 assists to lead the effort and the other American import center Anthony McClain (211-1988, college: Cincinnati) supported him with 23 points and 16 rebounds. Stover is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Even 15 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists by Tunisian swingman Islem Elajmi (196-1991) did not help to save the game for Al Adalah. The former international guard Faisal Aldawsari (180-1990) added 19 points for lost side. Four Al Adalah players scored in double figures. Al Salam maintains eighth position with 8-14 record.
