Doha – April 4, 2026:

On Friday evening, April 3, 2026, the third phase of the Qatar Women’s Basketball League for the 2025–2026 season tipped off at the Federation Hall amid strong competitive atmospheres, reflecting the rising intensity of the championship as decisive stages approach. The round produced impactful results in the race for the top, most notably Al Gharafa’s continued dominance at the summit, alongside an important victory for Al Khor that reshuffled the competition for the following positions.

In the first matchup held at Hall (1), Al Gharafa maintained its powerful performances this season, securing a deserved win over Al Adaam with a score of (86–55). The team imposed its control from the outset thanks to clear superiority in defensive organization, rapid offensive transitions, and efficiency both under the basket and on the wings. This victory reaffirmed Al Gharafa’s rightful place at the top, raising its tally to 8 points at the head of the standings.

Meanwhile, the second encounter at Hall (2) carried a different flavor of competitiveness and excitement. Al Khor managed to achieve its first win of the competition after a closely contested game against Al Shamal, ending (66–60). The clash was marked by alternating control and balanced technical levels before Al Khor sealed the result in the final minutes with sharper focus in finishing attacks and capitalizing on decisive opportunities.

With this triumph, Al Khor lifted its tally to 6 points to occupy third place, recording one win against four defeats.
Al Shamal, on the other hand, maintained its position in second place with 7 points, having achieved two wins against three losses, keeping itself within reach of the leading pack as the competition continues.

Attention now turns to the second round of this phase, scheduled for Tuesday, April 7, 2026, featuring two simultaneous matches at 8:00 p.m. Al Khor will face Al Gharafa in a tough test for both sides, while the other game will pit Al Shamal against Al Adaam.

The championship is set to conclude on Friday, April 10, 2026, with two decisive matches played simultaneously: Al Gharafa vs. Al Shamal, and Al Khor vs. Al Adaam. The official awarding ceremony will follow, honoring the top three teams in the overall standings, in addition to individual awards recognizing the best players and coaches for their contributions throughout the season.

This year’s league is being held in a three-phase format designed to elevate technical competitiveness and ensure sustained physical and tactical readiness across the season. The title will go to the team that accumulates the highest number of points at the end of all rounds.

It is also noteworthy that Al Adaam is participating within a developmental framework, with its results not counted in the official standings, thereby offering its players strong exposure and competitive experience against first-tier teams.
