Al Gharafa Faces Al Adaam, and Al Shamal Meets Al Khor in the Launch of the Third Phase of the Women's Basketball League

On Friday, April 3, 2026, the third phase of the Qatar Women’s Basketball League for the 2025–2026 season will kick off amid anticipated competitive excitement, as the championship enters its decisive stages that will largely shape the final standings. With the close points among the top three teams and the rising level of technical performance throughout the rounds, the competition promises intensity.

The opening round of the third phase is scheduled for 8:00 p.m., featuring Al Gharafa against Al Adaam in a strong clash at Hall (1), while Al Shamal faces Al Khor at the same time in Hall (2) at the Qatar Basketball Federation headquarters. These matches serve as a true test of the teams’ ambitions before heading into the final rounds.

Al Gharafa currently tops the overall standings at the end of the second phase with a perfect record of 8 points, affirming its strong presence as the most consistent team this season, being the only side unbeaten since the start of the competition. Their winning streak has secured them a clear advantage at the summit.

Al Shamal sits in second place with 6 points, having achieved two wins against two losses, keeping them close to the competition circle. Meanwhile, Al Khor occupies third place with 4 points, yet to secure a victory, leaving them with a tough challenge in the third phase to improve their position and re-enter the competitive atmosphere.

The second round of the third phase continues on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, with Al Khor meeting Al Gharafa and Al Adaam facing Al Shamal simultaneously at 8:00 p.m. The championship will conclude on Friday, April 10, 2026, with two decisive encounters: Al Gharafa vs. Al Shamal, and Al Khor vs. Al Adaam, both at 8:00 p.m. The final day will be followed by an official awards ceremony honoring the top three teams, as well as outstanding players and coaches.

This season’s league is played under a three-phase system, with the title awarded to the team that accumulates the highest number of points across all rounds. The format aims to elevate competitiveness and ensure sustained technical readiness throughout the season. Notably, Al Adaam participates within a developmental framework, with its results not counted in the official standings, while benefiting from strong exposure against top-tier teams.
