Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.
The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Al Ahli (2-1) in Doha on Friday night. Hosts were defeated by fourth ranked Al Rayyan (1-2) 68-55. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Al Ahli D.. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international Aladji Bobo Magassa (198-2000) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and the former international forward Malek Salem (195-1985) who added 14 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side international forward Mohammed Abbasher (198-2004) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds. It was the only win of guest team this round and in all other games host teams recorded victories. Al Rayyan left bottom position moving up to third place, which they share with Al Sadd. Al Ahli at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. They share it with Qatar Club.
Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Doha: Qatar Club (#3) and Al Sadd (#2). Qatar Club (2-1) won against visiting Al Sadd (1-2) 80-73. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The winners were led by American guard Sindou Diallo (194-2000, college: Montana Tech) who scored that evening 36 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds and Holland Woods II supported him with 24 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Even a double-double of 14 points and 12 rebounds by DR Congolese center Gracin Bakumanya (212-1997) did not help to save the game for Al Sadd. Qatar Club keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Al Ahli. Al Sadd at the other side dropped to the third place with two games lost. They share the position with Al Rayyan.
Another interesting game was again a derby between two local teams from Doha: Al Arabi (#1) and Al Gharafa (#3). Al Arabi (4-0) won against visiting Al Gharafa (1-3) 80-76. Mohamed Hussein fired a double-double by scoring 16 points, 13 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 blocks for the winners. Randy Culpepper produced 21 points, 5 assists and 4 steals for lost side. Al Gharafa's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Al Arabi have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 4-0 record. Loser Al Gharafa keeps the third place with three games lost. They share the position with Al Shamal and Al Khor.
In the last game of round 4 Al Shamal lost to Al Khor on the opponent's court 71-84.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 12 points, 14 rebounds and 5 blocks by Oussama Abdenacer of Al Gharafa.
