Qatar overcome Bahrain for GCC Championship trophy

Qatar earned the top position in the inaugural GCC Championship in Doha. The hosts celebrated four wins in as many games played. Warda Mourgam scored 18 points to lead Qatar to the fourth win at the tournament.
The hosts started the game aggressively. They accounted for 18 points in the opening frame and recorded a 6-point lead. Qatar stayed in front throughout the second frame and registered a 30:22 lead at halftime. The home team outgunned their opponents 23:12 in the third stanza and rallied to a comfortable win at the end. Hayat Ali contributed 16 points for the winners. Mariam Hedar responded with 13 points for Bahrain. Fatima Hassan had 8 points in the loss and Bahrain finished at 2-2 record in the third place.
