Qatar rolled to a comfortable win in their GCC Championship opener. The hosts stunned Oman for the first win. Warda Mourgam delivered 21 points to pace the effort.
Qatar proved their dominance in the starting frame. They kept the visitors scoreless in it building a 16:0 lead. Oman stopped the bleeding scoring 9 points in the second frame but the margin grew at 21-point mark at the interval. Qatar outgunned their opponents 17:2 in the third stanza and never looked back en route to the victory. Amal Aurad knocked down 20 points in the winning effort. Nedal Majed answered with 7 points for Oman.
Qatar will take on UAE today, while Oman will take a break before facing UAE on Sunday.
