Kagoshima Rebnise (B2 League) signed 29-year old Matthew Aquino, a former Japanese-Filipino international 205cm center. Aquino played for Toyama Grouses in the last two years, averaging 2.0ppg and 1.2rpg in 55 games last season. He played for Thunders in the 2024-25 season and was part of the Japanese Senior National Team between 2021 and 2022. B2 League offers a better opportunity for Aquino to showcase his skills and get more playing time.
Aquino has played previously for another Japanese team, the Brave Warriors.
