There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in PBA. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.
The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Manila: Kings (#3) and Painters (#2). Painters were crushed at home by 24 points 90-114 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Ginebra Kings looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Naturalized American forward Justin Brownlee (197-1988, college: St.John's) stepped up and scored 40 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and guard Rhon Jhay Abarrientos (181-1999) chipped in 23 points, 6 rebounds and 11 assists. American center Jaylen Johnson (206-1996, college: Louisville, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 15 rebounds and 6 assists. Painters' coach gave up on the game allowing to play thirteen players seeing no chance for a win. Ginebra Kings (8-3) moved-up to second place, which they share with Rain or Shine. Ginebra Kings will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Rain or Shine will play on the road against Titan UGR in Pasig City and is hoping to win this game.
PBA top team - Warriors (10-2) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat eleventh ranked Risers (2-9) in Makati City 123-112. Haitian center Cady Lalanne (208-1992, college: UMass) nailed a double-double by scoring 29 points and 20 rebounds for the winning side and Robert Bolick accounted for 25 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists. Belgian-American forward Michael Gilmore (208-1995, college: VCU, agency: BIG) came up with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 18 rebounds and 5 assists for Titan UGR in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Warriors have a solid series of four victories in a row. NLEX RW maintains first place with 10-2 record. Titan UGR lost sixth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with nine games lost. They share it with Blackwater and Macau. NLEX RW's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Makati City to the arena .
In the last two games of round 17 Blackwater lost to Meralco Bolts on the opponent's court 93-108. TNT Tropang unfortunately lost to Hotshots in a home game 94-106.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 53 points (!!!), 13 rebounds and 5 blocks by Bol Bol of TNT Tropang.
