Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

Worth to mention about the upset in a game between Beermen (4-5) and Bossing (2-7), which took place in Manila. Higher ranked Beermen lost at home to twelfth ranked Bossing 120-126 on Wednesday. Blackwater looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. 29 personal fouls committed by SM Beermen helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Robert Upshaw (213-1994, college: Washington) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 17 rebounds and 5 assists. His fellow American import guard Sedrick Barefield (188-1996, college: Utah) contributed with 29 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. American forward Bennie Boatwright (208-1996, college: USC) answered with a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!), 13 rebounds and 6 assists for SM Beermen. Beermen's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Blackwater maintains twelfth place with 2-7 record. Defending champion SM Beermen keeps the eighth position with five games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
Another upset was a game between Giga (6-3) and FiberXers (3-6), which took place in Makati. Higher ranked Giga lost to tenth ranked FiberXers in a road game 92-97. Forward Justine Arana (201-1999) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and Juan Gomez De Liano chipped in 16 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. At the losing side South Sudanese-American center Bol Bol (218-1999, college: Oregon, agency: The Crew A.M.) responded with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 16 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. FiberXers maintains tenth place with 3-6 record. TNT Tropang at the other side dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. FiberXers will play against higher ranked Phoenix (#6) in Quezon in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. TNT Tropang will have a break next round.
The game between sixth ranked Giga (6-3) and 13th ranked Black Bears (1-8) in Makati on Friday ended with biggest points difference. Giga beat guests from Macau 119-112. Bol Bol nailed a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!), 14 rebounds and 6 blocks for the winning side. Phoenix Shackelford came up with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 13 rebounds for Macau in the defeat. TNT Tropang moved-up to fourth place. Loser Black Bears stay at the bottom position with eight games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

In the last game of round 13 Ginebra Kings beat Blackwater on the road 115-108.




SM Beermen - Blackwater 120-126

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Kings (6-2) beat 12th ranked Bossing (2-7) in Caloocan City 115-108 on Friday. Ginebra Kings made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. Ginebra Kings outrebounded Blackwater 44-33 including 16 on the offensive glass. Ginebra Kings looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Naturalized American forward Justin Brownlee (197-1988, college: St.John's) nailed 21 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side and guard Scottie Thompson (188-1993) accounted for 19 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. Brownlee is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Kings players scored in double figures. Kings' coach Tim Cone used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American center Robert Upshaw (213-1994, college: Washington) came up with 43 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds and the other American import guard Sedrick Barefield (188-1996, college: Utah) added 25 points and 12 assists respectively for Blackwater in the defeat. Kings have a solid series of four victories in a row. Ginebra Kings moved-up to second place, which they share with NLEX RW. Loser Bossing keeps the twelfth position with seven games lost. Ginebra Kings will meet Titan UGR (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Blackwater will have a break next round.
