Bennie Boatwright gets MVP of the Week award for Filipino PBA

American Bennie Boatwright (208-F-1996) put on an amazing game in the last round for San Miguel Beermen and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 12.
The 29-year old forward had a double-double of 41 points and 11 rebounds, while his team edged out NLEX RW (#2, 6-2) 98-94. Beermen maintains the 8th position in Filipino PBA. SM Beermen is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 4-4 record. In the team's last game Boatwright had a remarkable 57.1% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Beermen and it was his first game, where he immediately became new team's leader.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Haitian center Cady Lalanne (208-C-1992) of second-ranked NLEX Road Warriors. Lalanne impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 35 points and 12 rebounds. Bad luck as Warriors was edged by the lower-ranked SM Beermen (#8, 4-4) 98-94. NLEX RW managed to keep the same second spot in the standings. His team's 6-2 record is not bad at all. Lalanne is a newcomer at NLEX RW and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 28.1ppg (#5). He also registered 15.9 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was Fran Yu (173-PG-1998) of Titan Ultra Giant Risers (#11). Yu got into 30-points club by scoring 35 points in the last round. He went also for five rebounds and five assists. Despite Yu's great performance the Risers lost 107-119 to slightly lower-ranked Macau BB (#13, 1-7). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Titan UGR can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 2-6 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Yu has individually a great season in Philippines. After only 8 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 5.3apg (5th best). He also has 2.4spg and a FGP of 57.7%.

9. Clinton Chapman (208-F/C-1989) of Hotshots - 22 points, 14 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Robert Bolick (185-G-1995) of NLEX RW - 9 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
