Meralco Bolts - TNT Tropang 96-99

TNT Tropang made 25-of-28 free shots (89.3 percent) during the game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when TNT Tropang made 9 blocks. 28 personal fouls committed by Bolts helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Naturalized Australian guard Jordan Heading (188-1996, college: CBU) orchestrated the victory by scoring 31 points and 5 assists. Guard Rey Nambatac (179-1994) contributed with 25 points and 4 assists (was perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line !!!) for the winners. Four TNT Tropang players scored in double figures. Guard CJ Cansino (188-1999) answered with 36 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds and Norman Black (183-1996) added 17 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists in the effort for Bolts. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game.

Beermen players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. Kings were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Center June Mar Fajardo (210-1989) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds for the winners and naturalized Tongan center Moala Tautuaa (200-1989, college: Chadron St.) chipped in 18 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Scottie Thompson (188-1993) responded with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and guard Rhon Jhay Abarrientos (181-1999) scored 18 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
