Chris Ortiz was the top scorer in the whole world yesterday having an unbelievable 43 points in his last game in Blackwater

43 points scored by 31 year old American power forward Chris Ortiz (203-PF-1993, college: Kent St.) gave him the award of highest scoring player of the day in the world. His team Blackwater lost to SM Beermen 117 to 125. Ortiz also grabbed 15 rebounds and got 5 assists that game. He is averaging almost 26 points and over 10 rebounds per game in the league.
He is a very experienced player. Thanks to Ortiz's pro career he managed to play on three different continents (Europe, Latin America and of course North America), in eight different countries. He has played previously professionally in Cyprus (Etha), Denmark (Bakken), Finland (Seagulls and Kobrat), Israel (Maccabi Ashdod/Be'er Tuvia), Mexico (Plateros), Philippines, Puerto Rico (Brujos, Gigantes and Grises), and Uruguay (Defensor).
He has also been a member of the Puerto Rican international program for some years. Ortiz has regularly played for the Puerto Rican senior team since 2017 and previously for the Under 18 National Team back in 2010.
He also represented the Puerto Rico at the FIBA World Cup in Philippines-Japan-Indonesia last year. During this event he scored an average of 7.2 points per game and had 2.4 rebounds per game.
Among many awards Ortiz's team won Danish Cup in 2020. He was selected to Eurobasket.com All-Israeli National League Honorable Mention in 2022.
